This past Saturday, I had the honor of documenting Kristian and Ryan’s wedding day, a beautiful union that blended deep emotion, joyful celebration, and hip modern trends of disco balls, drapery, and sparkle. Held at Athens Cotton Press, every detail of their day reflected the couple’s warmth, sophistication, and their love for meaningful moments.
From the moment Kristian and Ryan began planning their wedding, it was clear that family and heartfelt connections were at the heart of every decision. Kristian’s father, no longer with us, was a significant presence in her heart and in the hearts of her family members. Every thoughtful touch throughout the day honored his memory in subtle yet profound ways, while the overwhelming love and support of their families created a joyous energy that surrounded the couple.
The day began with both Kristian and Ryan surrounded by their closest friends and family, as well as Kristian’s sweet Black Mouth Cur baby who clung by her side like a magnet during all her getting-ready moments. Ryan and his groomsmen kept things light-hearted while preparing for the big moments ahead. Among them was Nick, Kristian’s brother, who shared an emotional first look with Kristian—a tender moment that captured the deep bond between siblings.
The First Look at UGA’s North Campus was nothing short of heartwarming. In the soft, golden light of late afternoon, Kristian and Ryan exchanged their private vows, a moment brimming with love, gratitude, and promises for their future. There’s something so intimate about this pause in the whirlwind of a wedding day—a moment where the world fades away, and it’s just the two of them.
Afterward, we explored North Campus together for their Bride and Groom portraits. The timeless architecture and romantic scenery of the location perfectly complemented their classic and sophisticated style. These portraits captured not only their love but the joy and anticipation they felt as they prepared to take their vows.
Their ceremony was as touching as it was beautiful, with the couple surrounded by family, friends, and the loving memory of those who couldn’t be there. Kristian and Ryan’s first kiss as husband and wife marked the beginning of a vibrant reception. The Athens Cotton Press was transformed into an elegant celebration space, featuring a stunning array of details that reflected the couple’s taste for understated luxury.
Kristian and Ryan’s wedding day was a celebration of love in its purest form—joyous, resilient, and filled with gratitude. Documenting such an occasion is a privilege, especially when the couple and their loved ones approach their day with so much intentionality and grace.
To Kristian and Ryan: thank you for inviting me into this special chapter of your lives. Your love story is one of strength and beauty, and I know the future ahead of you will be just as remarkable as the day you said, “I do.”
For those planning their own celebrations, let Kristian and Ryan’s wedding serve as inspiration: cherish the people who matter most, honor your story, and lean into the joy of the moment.
